Wiehler Mechanical Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a 2nd to 4th year Sheet Metal Apprentice to support commercial HVAC installations under Journeymen. You will assist with ductwork, fabrication knowledge, and blueprint reading.

The role offers a competitive hourly wage ($26.00–$36.00), a Monday–Friday day schedule (7:00 AM–3:30 PM), comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, and a tool program to help you develop your trade while building Alberta homes and businesses.

Qualifications

• 2nd Year to 4th Year apprentice in sheet metal.
• Experience in commercial sheet metal installation or HVAC ductwork.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, duct systems, and ventilation components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project plans.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift heavy materials.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and secure commercial HVAC duct systems, fittings, and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation.
• Measure, cut, and bend sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Inspect and test installed systems for proper operation and adherence to industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following company policies and safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Our Commercial Division is looking for a 2 nd Year to 4 th Year Sheet Metal Apprentice to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience working in commercial environments, a strong work ethic, and a desire to advance in the sheet metal trade. They will work under the supervision of Journeymen, assisting in installations of HVAC systems in commercial buildings.

You’ll receive competitive pay ranging from $26.00-$36.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

STABLE, FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE

You’ll typically work Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM
