SM Suspension in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, QC, is seeking a machinist to measure, lay out, inspect, and set up tooling for precise fabrication. You will read engineering drawings, verify dimensions with precision instruments, and ensure parts conform to specifications in an on-site manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a machinist trade certification, a strong eye for detail, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Repair machine tools and parts.
• Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
• Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools.
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
