Job summary

University of Manitoba is seeking a Sessional Instructor to teach EDUA 5520 A01 - Ethics in Counselling for the Fall term. The course runs September 7, 2026 to December 23, 2026, with two sections (A01 and A02) and on-campus delivery.

Start date is September 7 and end date is December 23. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, instructing, grading, providing feedback, and keeping regular office hours.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English is required.
  • Background/specialization in subject area required.
  • Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
  • Empathetic approach to the instructional needs of students is required.
  • Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Appointment Pay Rate: $6,654.00

If more than one section is advertised for this course different applicants may be considered for each section, and applicants are required to indicate their preferred section.

Where a University of Manitoba student is the successful candidate, the terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, will be governed by the UM/CUPE 3909 (Student) Collective Agreement.
