Job summary

Department of Food Science, University of Manitoba invites applications for a Sessional Instructor DS 7040 T06 - CUPE 3909 Unit 2 for Environment and Disability. Start date January 1, 2027; End date April 30, 2027; Course: Environment and Disability DS 7040 T06 - 3 Credit Hours.

The successful candidate will teach, prepare instructional and testing materials, assess exams and assignments, provide feedback, and maintain regular office hours. Course schedule is Tuesday 1000 - 1245.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language is required.
  • Background/specialization in subject area required.
  • Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
  • Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
  • Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Expected total hours:

Appointment Pay Rate: $6,654.00

Course Schedule: Tuesday 1000 - 1245

The candidate must have: - Experience in working and studying in areas of the built, social and attitudinal environment related to issues surrounding disabled people. -a environment research agenda related to Disability Studies. The candidate must have background courses in Disability Studies as a field. Be familiar with the texts and teaching materials for Environment and Disability.
