Job summary

Alstom in Ottawa is seeking a full-time Servicing & Cleaning Technician to support the light rail vehicle cleaning program. You will follow defined quality standards to ensure passengers ride in a safe, spotless environment, and you will perform basic quality checks on equipment and processes.

You will work with EHSS policies, stay compliant with procedures, and be flexible to cover mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed while maintaining a collaborative approach with teammates

Qualifications

  • Experience in cleaning light rail vehicles or similar environments.
  • Ability to follow EHSS and quality procedures consistently.
  • Computer literate with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning LRVs (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing).
  • Carry out basic quality checks and report variances.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of items and chemicals per rules.

We’re looking for a full-time Servicing & Cleaning Technician @ Ottawa site, could it be you?

Your future role

As a member of the Servicing and Cleaning team, you are responsible to clean light rail vehicles (LRV) following specified standards of Quality and Delivery that meet the Customer and ALSTOM expectations so as to ensure our passengers commute in a safe and spotless environment.

While interacting daily with co-workers, quality inspectors, team leaders, supervisors, and managers, all activities will be performed according to EHSS policies, procedures and rules in place.

You’ll specifically take care of
  • Complying and enforcing EHSS and Quality procedures and rules
  • Cleaning LRVs (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and sanitizing)
  • Carrying out basic quality checks
  • Handling, storing, packing, discarding items and materials including chemicals
About You

You will need to have relevant experience and be computer literate with good communication skills. However, we value attitude as much as experience and we’ll look to you for

  • To be able to do the work on time with minimal supervision
  • To be dependable and meticulous
  • To be flexible and available to work mornings and evenings, plus weekends/holidays as needed
  • To work closely with support functions to identify and propose suggestions for continuous improvement

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $25.71 per hour, plus benefits.
