ServiceNow Developer – ITSM & Automation
Location- Downtown Toronto, Hybrid- 3 times per week
Duration- 6 months with high possibility of extension
Purpose
The Senior ServiceNow Developer plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the Service Management Team (SMT) by designing, developing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions. This role focuses on IT Service Management (ITSM), system integration, automation, and troubleshooting, ensuring alignment with business strategies, regulatory requirements, and enterprise policies.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & System Integration
- Design, develop, and deploy ServiceNow-based applications and workflows, ensuring seamless integration with existing enterprise systems.
- Write and optimize scripts, configurations, and automation solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
- Lead performance monitoring, issue resolution, and system enhancements to improve overall efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for code development, reuse, and architecture improvements based on best practices.
Technical Strategy & Compliance
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, customers, and technical teams to define and implement high-quality solutions aligned with business needs.
- Ensure all development adheres to internal compliance policies, regulatory requirements, and IT governance standards.
- Conduct gap analyses, evaluating “buy vs. build” recommendations for technical enhancements.
Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor junior developers and analysts, providing guidance on ServiceNow scripting, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Lead training sessions on best practices in ITSM development, Agile methodologies, and ServiceNow automation strategies.
- Champion a customer-centric approach to enhance user experience and business relationships.
Operational Risk & Performance Management
- Support day-to-day operations while implementing best practices in ServiceNow system design and workflow optimization.
- Ensure compliance with Operational Risk, AML, ATF, and regulatory frameworks, maintaining high standards of security and governance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on ServiceNow advancements, ITSM trends, and automation innovations.
Must Haves
- 3–5 years of development experience in ServiceNow with a strong background in ITSM and workflow automation.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and developing solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
- ServiceNow Advanced System Administrator certification (preferred).
- Expertise in ServiceNow scripting, system integration, and automation strategies.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), systems design, and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication skills, time management, and troubleshooting abilities.
