Our SE Client is a provider of specialized truck and heavy equipment solutions including sales, rentals, and financing. This rapidly growing group is seeking a talented team player to join their service department.

With their brand-new office in SE Calgary, they are seeking a rock star to jump in and support the Service Manager as aService Writer. This Service Writer will also oversee the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) of their Calgary location and work collaboratively with the VP and other administration staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supporting the Service Department with anything and everything needed to ensure smooth operations of the business

The key job functions are:

  • Work with Service Manager on day-to-day operations of the Service Department
  • Communicate daily with Service Manager on workflow and action items
  • Ensure all repair requests are addressed, work orders created accordingly and distributed for scheduling and completion
  • Review open work orders to ensure all repairs are addressed
  • Ensure customers are kept up to date with their job status
  • Enter and close work orders
  • Coordinate with mechanics on action items to be added to work orders
  • Oversee the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) of the Calgary location
  • Support other departments as needed with ad hoc administrative tasks

Education:

  • Post-secondary an asset
  • High school diploma

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Driver’s license and reliable vehicle (office is not transit accessible)
  • Clean criminal background check

Experience:

  • 2-5+ years’ previous experience as a Service Writer
  • Ideally within an agricultural, construction, automotive, or other heavy equipment shop is an asset
  • Technical knowledge of heavy equipment is an asset

Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks at one time
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of the position
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player – supportive personality

Base Salary:$60,000 – 70,000 per year

  • Benefits package included

Work Hours:

  • Full time Monday – Friday

Remote Work:

  • This position is not remote.You are required to be on site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
