Job summary

Jim Pattison Subaru on Regent is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to high safety and reliability standards. You will participate in thorough vehicle inspections, communicate findings, and collaborate with Service Advisors to keep repairs on schedule.

Applicants should have Red Seal Certification or be working toward it, plus previous automotive technician experience and a Manitoba driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification as an Automotive Service Technician, or currently working toward it.
• Previous experience as an automotive technician is required.
• A valid Manitoba Driver’s licence and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract are required.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Able to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a service technician role, including lifting up to 60 pounds, standing for extended periods, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Complete thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements.
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and clearly communicate findings to the Service team.
• Partner with Service Advisors to provide repair timeline updates and recommend additional safety work.
• Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaves the shop in top condition.
• Coordinate with the Parts Department to source required parts and manage warranty labelling.
• Support fellow technicians as needed to help maintain overall shop productivity.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized at all times.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Help foster a supportive, engaging work environment.

A Day in the Life

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer and dealership standards

What We’re Looking For
