Job summary

Vanderlande Industries B.V. in Canada seeks a Service Technician III to support our automated warehouse systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance (electrical and mechanical), troubleshoot faults, replace spare parts, and report activities from the control room, contributing to safety and service excellence. This full-time position requires electro‑mechanical proficiency, ability to read electrical schematics, use standard test instruments, and respond to call outs.

Qualifications

  • Proficient electro-mechanical skills.

Job description

Service Technician III

Support the advanced automated warehouse in Canada, ensuring efficient preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting of material handling systems, while upholding safety and service excellence.

Essential Functions
  • Provide troubleshooting support for simple material handling system issues and unjamming of sub‑systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical components.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical components.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (electrical and mechanical).
  • Report executed maintenance activities.
  • Replace machine spare parts.
  • Report problems and maintenance activities requiring attention.
  • Respond to call outs, faults, alarms, and warnings; monitor system from the control room.
  • Comply with all Vanderlande programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as occasionally required by management.
Required Education and Experience
  • Proficient electro‑mechanical skills.
  • Electrical fault‑finding and rectification skills, including replacement and configuration of field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners, etc.).
  • Mechanical fault‑finding and rectification skills (gearboxes, bearings, sprockets, drives, etc.).
  • First experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Skilled in the use of standard electrical test instruments.
  • Relevant vocational and/or technical qualifications.
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Warehouse operations experience.
  • Conveyor services or material handling services experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Flexibility with time and ability to shift priorities quickly.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer and service oriented mindset.
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure.
  • Pro‑active attitude toward process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
Position Type / Expected Hours

Full‑time; 24/7 operation, no travel required.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent climbing, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs (occasionally up to 120lbs). Must frequently move, stand, walk, and use hands to operate equipment and tools.

Salary Range

CAD$55,000 – $60,000 per year, plus an annual performance bonus program.
