Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Castlegar location. You will repair and maintain heavy equipment and attachments used in construction and forestry while documenting work and coordinating with the service team.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, safety adherence, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training and advancement opportunities are provided within Brandt’s growing network.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
• Must meet physical demands (climbing, lifting, standing, dexterity).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, assemble/disassemble and order parts for heavy duty equipment.
• Document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time.
• Use related tools, instruments, and computer systems to support repairs.
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation when needed.
• Communicate with customers, service team and branch personnel.
• Utilize parts catalogs to locate and order parts.

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Service Technician for ourCastlegar location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
