Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Ontario, Canada, is seeking an Installation Technician to install a variety of automatic door systems—sliding, swinging, and rotating—ensuring accuracy, safety, and high-quality workmanship on every project.

You will document work, manage inventory, and interact professionally with customers and contractors while pursuing AAADM certification within one year. A valid driver’s license is required, and a strong safety mindset is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude for repairing electro-mechanical devices.
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage wiring (120V).
• Experience with glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and installation following manufacturers’ procedures and specs.
• Document time spent and complete accurate job documentation (job numbers, travel, discrepancies).
• Maintain truck stock and inventory.
• Maintain company vehicle in good condition per maintenance agreement.
• Interface professionally with customers, end-users, and general contractors.
• Participate in training and maintain AAADM certification.
• Work safely to prevent accidents for yourself and others on-site.

This Role:

As an Installation Technician you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality door systems to our customers. You will be responsible for installing a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors, ensuring each project is completed accurately, safely, and to the highest standard. Your work will directly contribute to customer satisfaction by providing reliable, professional installation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers recommended installation procedures and specifications.
• Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing job numbers, travel time, any discrepancies, shortages, or inefficiencies in jobsite conditions.
• Maintain proper truck stock and inventory.
• Maintain company vehicle both in appearance and per vehicle maintenance agreement.
• Interface with customer, end-user and general contractor in a courteous professional manner at all times.
• Participate in training programs offered and remain AAADM certified.
• Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, contractors on-site and the general public and property of all concerned.

What You Will Need:

• Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

What We Offer:

Hourly Rate/Salary range

• $45-$47per hour; The final pay rate offered to the successful candidate will depend on education, experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role.
