Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade automated pedestrian doors at customer sites. You will handle sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while delivering dependable service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with electro-mechanical devices, ability to lift up to 110 pounds with aids, and AAADM certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21.
  • Must be able to obtain AAADM certification within twelve (12) months of employment and maintain certification as required.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring (access control systems a plus).
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, end-users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.
  • Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds (with lifting aids) on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation; climbing ladders, kneeling, driving and working in various positions as required.

The Role:
