Job summary

Jobtailor Canada seeks a Wind Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on wind turbines at the Bow Island site. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, follow safety protocols, and complete service reports to support continuous operations.

The role requires reading technical documents, using hand and power tools, and willingness to travel for training. English fluency is required and on-site outdoor work is common.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or safety certifications are assets.
Wind, electrical, mechanical, or technical education/certification is an asset.
0–1 year of wind industry experience preferred.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable with heights over 300 feet and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and confined spaces.
Ability to travel for training at other sites as needed.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship and travel to the U.S. for onboarding.
Commitment to safety standards and protocols.
Proactive safety hazard identification.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on wind turbines and related equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to support reliable turbine performance
Follow safety procedures, including LOTO, hazard assessments, and proper use of PPE
Complete maintenance reports, service documentation, and work orders accurately
Support 24/7 wind farm operations, including on-call, overtime, and rotating shift coverage
Assist with equipment inspections, root cause analysis, and system upgrades
Maintain tools, equipment, and required certifications
Work closely with site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations
Collaborate with operational and back-office teams to maintain wind farm availability and service performance
