Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Cambridge is seeking a Front End Supervisor to lead the store front with warm, engaging service and to supervise cashiers and floor operations. You will ensure accurate tendering, onboarding of staff, and daily readiness for business.

The role requires 1+ year experience, flexibility to work evenings/weekends, and a Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain). Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a similar role.
• Partial completion of a post-secondary program.
• Ability to work independently with strong quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
• Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain) for alcohol‑selling locations.
• Strong math skills with high accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
• Collaborative leadership style with clear communication and organizational skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on setting with several deadlines, standing, lifting, and varying conditions.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French is considered an asset.

• Assist the management team with cashier balancing, change orders, overrides, cart retrieval, and handling returns and refunds.
• Support closing procedures by delegating tasks and ensuring completion of end‑of‑day responsibilities.
• Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations (Smart Serve certification required or willingness to obtain).
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

• Partial completion of a post‑secondary program plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

• For locations selling alcohol: minimum age of 18 years and Smart Serve certification (or willingness to complete).
• Strong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
• A collaborative leadership style supported by clear and effective organizational and communication skills.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
