Job summary

Voyago is currently recruiting school bus drivers for Ottawa locations (Stittsville, Dunrobin, Kanata, Barrhaven, Nepean, and west Ottawa). This full-time role offers split shifts and a competitive hourly rate.

Drivers must hold a valid Ontario G class license, have a clean driving record, and pass a vulnerable sector screening and driving skills assessment. Benefits include a comprehensive package for full-time staff working 30+ hours weekly, plus a $2,000 retention bonus for qualifying

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario G class license required; preference for B class.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Clean driving record and vulnerable sector screening.
• Solid knowledge of Ottawa West region and surrounding areas.
• Ability to work independently.
• Available for split shifts (4–5 hours total: mornings and afternoons).
• Pre-hire driving skills and radio communication assessment will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, the so-called most precious cargo.
• Ensure student safety during boarding and exiting the bus.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections for safety.
• Assist with fueling and maintaining cleanliness of the bus.

Your role:

• You are responsible for safely transporting what we call “the most precious cargo” to and from school
• Ensure students’ safety while boarding and exiting buses.
• Be responsible for performing pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety.
• Help fuel and maintain the cleanliness of the bus. #OTW #INDSCHOOL
• You hold a valid minimum full Ontario G class drivers license, Preference will be given to B class drivers.
• You are 21 years of age or over.
• You possess clean driving record and criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
• You have a sound knowledge of the Ottawa West region and surrounding areas
• You have the ability to work independently
• You are available for the required split shifts of 4-5 hours total, that could run: Monday - Friday between 6:30am - 9:30am and 1:30pm - 5pm.
• You possess solid communication skills. There will be a pre-hire driving skills and radio communication assessment.

Candidates applying with a current valid work permit and requiring a licence upgrade, must have at least twelve months of remaining validity on the work permit at the time of application.
