Service Manager (Timmins) CJ Equipment Sales and Service

Position Summary

The Service Manager is responsible for theday-to-day service operationsof CJ Equipment and Joel Vachon, including the CJEquipment shop, Joel Vachon shop, and the maintenance and repair coordinationof the Joel Vachon fleet. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring aregular presence in both shops and strong coordination between technicians,Service Advisors and management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Shop and Technician Management

• Oversee the daily operation andworkflow of the CJ Equipment and Joel Vachon shops.
• Schedule technicians acrossboth shops based on workload, priorities, technician skill level and operational requirements.
• Maintain a regular shop-floorpresence to monitor job progress, workmanship, productivity and technicianneeds.
• Identify jobs that are fallingbehind and act early to resolve delays and roadblocks.
• Ensure adequate technicianon-call coverage is scheduled and clearly communicated.
• Coordinate maintenance,preventative maintenance and repair requirements for the Joel Vachon fleet.
• Prioritize repairs based onoperational requirements and equipment availability.
• Monitor fleet downtime,recurring mechanical issues and units due for maintenance.
• Work with operations tominimize unnecessary downtime and ensure completed fleet repairs meet qualityexpectations.

Service Advisor Leadership, SERTI and Billing

• Oversee, coach and support theService Advisors.
• Ensure Service Advisorscommunicate with customers in a timely, professional and proactive manner,including repair findings, approvals, delays and completion expectations.
• Ensure work orders are opened,maintained, documented, reviewed, invoiced and closed in a timely manner.
• Promote proper and consistentuse of SERTI and improve the completeness and timeliness of service data.
• Ensure technician time, repairnotes, parts, outside purchases and customer authorizations are properlycaptured.
• Review open and aging workorders and prevent completed work from sitting unbilled.

Quality Control:

• Oversee quality control ofrepairs completed in both shops.
• Ensure appropriate inspections,road tests or operational tests are completed before equipment is released.
• Investigate comebacks andrepeat repairs and work with technicians to correct root causes.
• Promote a culture of completingrepairs correctly the first time.

Tooling, Computers, and Diagnostic Softwear

Manage shop tooling, specialtytools, diagnostic equipment, computers and related technology.

Ensure diagnostic software,subscriptions, licences, laptops and communication adapters are current andoperational.

Identify tooling and technologyinvestments that improve technician efficiency and shop capability.

Maintain accountability forcompany-owned tooling and diagnostic equipment.
