Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance operation. You’ll hire and motivate a team of Service Technicians, oversee repairs, and partner with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location.

You’ll coach technicians to meet time/quality standards, manage R&M, parts and costs, promote safety, and drive continuous improvement of maintenance metrics.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma; trade-school deg. a plus; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Extensive equipment maintenance and leadership experience.
• 5 years’ service and maintenance experience and a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong motivational and leadership skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Staff location adequately based on skills and workload
• Responsible for R&M and associated costs/budget
• Lead, plan, measure and continuous improvement of service and maintenance performance metrics

• Evaluate performance and promotability of team members; provide necessary skills training and regular coaching
• Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, accountability and communication

As a Service Manager, you’ll be the leader of a major maintenance enterprise. You’ll have the opportunity to hire and motivate an amazing team of Service Technicians. You’ll continually improve efficiency and customer satisfaction, by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and repaired. You will work closely with the Branch Manager, and help build a profitable location with your leadership, service and maintenance knowledge, and business management.
