Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to service and repair complex rental equipment at customer sites. You will perform maintenance safely and provide exceptional customer service while representing the company on-site.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years of equipment repair experience, own tools, and a valid driver's license. A signing bonus of up to $3,000 is offered.

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. What you'll do:

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be eligible for a signing bonus of up to $3000.
