What Will You Do?

Howden Canada - CPI Edmonton is seeking a Service Center Operations Manager to join our team.

The main responsibilities include overseeing daily planning, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and service activities to meet customer and business expectations. You will ensure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products at minimum costs. Additionally, you will promote a culture of continuous improvement to meet customer and business demands.

Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be...
  • Ensure a health and safety environment by implementing Howden HSE procedures and standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Manage rebuild and manufacturing projects to meet specifications and aftermarket requirements.
  • Oversee proposals related to parts and rebuilds, ensuring timely delivery and scope accuracy.
  • Support business development into new markets aligned with company objectives.
  • Implement reporting, financial, operational controls, and KPIs to safeguard business interests.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Aftermarket team on project deliverables, customer requirements, and product development.
  • Act as a contractual intermediary between company and customers for variations.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet customer needs and adjust as required.
  • Develop talent within your department and collaborate with HR on employee relations.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing performance indicators like productivity and efficiency.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, including capacity planning, inventory management, quality systems, and purchasing.
  • Basic financial principles knowledge.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities and effective management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Your Experience Should Be...
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Experience as a plant manager with P&L responsibility.
