Tantramar Chevrolet in Amherst, NS is seeking a Service Advisor to join our team. You will be the primary contact for customers seeking maintenance or repairs, guiding them through the service process and providing estimates to ensure confidence in the care of their vehicle.

This role requires a customer-focused, team-oriented individual who communicates clearly and builds long-term relationships. The position offers an hourly wage range and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Previous automotive Service Advisor experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Good organization and learning skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine automotive problems by listening to customers and clarifying symptoms.
• Verify warranty coverage and explain provisions to customers.
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.
• Prepare repair orders with symptoms, problems, and required repairs.
• Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and obtaining approvals.
• Record problems and corrective actions in customer records.
• Keep knowledge up to date by reading manufacturer materials.

As a Service Advisor with Tantramar Chevrolet, you will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance or repairs. You will guide customers through the service process, communicate repair recommendations, provide estimates, and ensure every customer leaves with confidence in the care of their vehicle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Hourly Wage Range: $21.40 to $25.70, plus performance bonus

Located in Amherst, NS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Determine automotive problems and services by listening to customers’ descriptions of symptoms and clarifying descriptions of problems
• Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor
• Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required
• Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates and answering questions and concerns
• Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers’ publications
• Enhance the store’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Requirements:

• At least one year of customer service experience
• Previous experience in an Automotive Service Advisor role is considered an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills: a good listener who can cultivate relationships
• Ability to work in a team‑driven environment
• Good organization and learning skills
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract
