Job summary

AMD in Markham, Ontario, or Austin, Texas, seeks a hands-on Server Systems Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence for DCGPU, ML, and AI products. You will collaborate with design, CM partners, ODMs, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality, and capacity in new and high-volume production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with high-volume server assembly, system manufacturing, or related technologies.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) for electro-mechanical assemblies, including DFx activities.
• Experience with PCBA and SMT assembly processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and quality tools, including 8D and SPC.
• Experience working with ODMs, CEMs, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Experience driving manufacturing yield improvements and resolving complex production issues.
• Knowledge of process development, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with PFMEA, APQP, IPC standards, and environmental compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and optimization of PCBA and server system assembly processes for NPI and high-volume manufacturing.
• Manage DFx activities with internal engineering teams and external manufacturing partners to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks and ensure required technical capabilities.
• Drive ODM/CEM manufacturing partners to achieve product quality, yield, and operational targets.
• Develop, manage, and maintain manufacturing SOPs and processes across AMD and partner sites.
• Develop efficient manufacturing assembly processes, including workflow, methods, materials, equipment, and detailed work instructions.
• Lead engineering and technical meetings and cross-functional manufacturing projects.
• Provide DFM input to engineering teams to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
• Provide technical support for production issues, including failure analysis of discrepant components.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, capacity, and supply chain efficiency.
• Serve as liaison between AMD teams and ODM/CEM partners to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing/yield issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with AMD engineers, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Support new product implementation and sustaining engineering at manufacturing facilities globally.
• Evaluate and support new assembly methods, materials, components, automation, and technologies.
• Travel as needed to support external sites and partners.
