Job summary

AMD in Markham, Ontario, is seeking an Analog Mixed-Signal IP Design Analysis and CAD Engineer to evaluate AMS designs, develop automated analysis tools, and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure pre-silicon accuracy.

You will gain exposure to LVS, DRC/ERC, STA, SPICE, and AI-assisted workflows, while working across AMD sites to optimize design analysis processes.

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering with strong scripting and EDA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with Analog/Mixed-Signal design and ASIC pre-silicon verification.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, TCL) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Understand the hardware chip development lifecycle from specification to silicon manufacturing.
• Analyze electrical performance of AMS designs and support integration into the chip system.
• Review flagged issues and determine if design fixes are required.
• Develop, investigate, and enhance scripts to automate IP design analysis workflow.
• Collaborate with 3rd party IP vendors to review results and discuss fixes.
• Work with engineers across AMD sites to enable solutions for AMS designs.
• Cross-reference issues after design integration into the chip environment.
• Use software automation to improve IP design analysis methodologies.
• Apply industry-standard physical verification tools before final integration.
