Evolutionary Recruiting in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Server Analyst for a 6-month onsite contract to monitor, maintain, and optimize the server infrastructure to maximize uptime and performance and support critical business operations.

You will install and configure operating systems and applications, perform regular backups, troubleshoot incidents, coordinate with network and security teams, and document configurations and procedures to ensure consistent support and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Server Analyst, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain server performance, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.

  • Perform routine server backups and system updates to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Troubleshoot server issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Work with network and security teams to ensure proper integration and security of server infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage server monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with server capacity planning and resource management to handle increasing workloads.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deploy new applications, services, or system upgrades.
  • Provide technical support for server-related incidents and service requests.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

The Position:

Our Edmonton Area Client, is seeking a Server Analyst for a 6 month contract to help with monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing their server infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and performance. The successful candidate will help support business operations and improve the reliability of their systems.

What You'll Do:

Mandatories (must have to qualify):
