- Managed Print Services Operations support
Scope :
- A Print Server Analyst is required to assist with operational tickets due to capacity constraints while awaiting funding for the Managed Print Service project in the Budget.
- The resource will help the team with add / modify / moves / remove requests and eventually assist with break / fix tickets.
- There is a significant increase in staff movements and building relocations.
- This resource may also support internal key projects such as PrinterLogic updates, Client Mobility Suite updates, Lexmark Print Release updates, and ongoing government restructuring projects.
Job Duties :
Deliverables may include some or all of the following, in accordance with service-level agreements :
- Maintain the Windows and mainframe Enterprise print environment;
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve print server and network printing performance and reliability issues;
- Participate in print environment action requests, problem, and incident management workflows;
- Code, test, and document print-related script modifications;
- Perform hardware and software certifications;
- Plan for software and hardware upgrades;
- Plan for capacity and disaster recovery;
- Develop and maintain server and client documentation;
- Provide courteous and effective customer service responses;
Must Haves :
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting an enterprise Windows Print server environment with multiple print servers and printers.
- Experience with enterprise printer hardware, software, and security options, including multi-function device scanning, authentication, and secure access features.
- Experience with printer deployment automation, command line utilities, and scripting technologies.
- Experience supporting mainframe printing in a Windows environment.
- Experience with Windows print server technologies and performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Nice to Have :
- Experience in the Government of Alberta Domain environment or an equivalent large and complex environment.
- Experience supporting Windows as a system administrator.
- Experience with action request, problem, and incident management workflows.
- Experience with desktop printing features, preferences, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with enterprise printer migration projects.
- Experience managing DHCP, WINS, and Windows Active Directory printer objects.
- Experience with Remote Access software (Terminal Services, VPN, Citrix).
- Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell.
- Experience working in or for the public sector.
Notes :
- Work must be performed within Alberta due to network and data security requirements.
- The role is expected to be primarily remote; however, onsite meetings are possible, with no travel or relocation expenses paid by the client.
