Job summary

Cabot Link at Inverness Limited Partnership in Nova Scotia is seeking a personable server to deliver timely, attentive service and to support a welcoming dining experience. You will manage guest orders, assist with beverage service, and help maintain a pristine dining environment.

Experience with Micros POS and knowledge of wines or spirits are assets. Must be of legal drinking age (19) in NS, with weekend/evening availability essential for this seasonal full-time role.

Qualifications

• Experience serving in hospitality environments is advantageous.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Nova Scotia (19).
• Hospitality training or education is an asset but not required.
• Experience with POS systems (Micros) is preferred.
• Knowledge of wines, scotches, ports and liqueurs is an asset.
• Some knowledge of international cuisines and cooking techniques is beneficial.
• Professional, personable and well-presented demeanor is essential.
• Ability to work flexible hours – weekends and evenings as required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• A degree or diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient food and beverage service.
• Serve, refresh, clear and re-set tables promptly.
• Maintain overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant to exceed expectations.
• Keep work station orderly and timely (clear tables, refresh beverages, remove items).
• Complete setup, closing and side duties promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest washrooms.
• Collaborate with management to deliver guest satisfaction with professionalism.
• Ensure guests' bills are presented and posted timely (cash, credit card, or room charge).
• Report concerns to Manager/Supervisor On Duty regarding guests, food or service quality, or surroundings.
• Follow health and safety policies and departmental procedures.
• Be flexible to work in multiple outlets as required.
• Uphold high standards of internal and external customer service.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Provide timely, personalized, friendly and efficient food and beverage service
• Serve, refresh, clear and re-set tables in a timely manner
• Ensure that overall cleanliness and maintenance of our restaurant exceeds expectations
• Maintain work section in an orderly and timely manner (clearing tables, refreshing beverages, removing food items)
• Complete setup, closing and side duties in timely manner

• Work with management team to deliver guest satisfaction with dedication and professionalism
• Takes proper measures to ensure guests bills are presented and posted in a timely manner (cash, credit card or room charge)
• Bring any concerns to the attention of the Manager/Supervisor On Duty (related to internal or external guests, food or service quality, operation of the room, physical surroundings)
• Comply with proper security, fire regulation, and all health and safety policies
• Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
• Must be able/willing to work in multiple or various outlets as required
• Always upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service

Qualifications:

• Ability to work flexible hours – weekends and evenings as required
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented
• A Degree or Diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism an asset
