Job description

Overview

The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated joint venture of Aecon and Atkinsrealis located in Kincardine, Ontario. It is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of six reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes and feeders, as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow CANDU units to continue operating safely through 2064.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed plans to implement selected series of work within the FCFR, including detailed schedules, materials planning, logistic planning, and all required documentation (procedures, work packages, etc.).
  • Coordinate with all required project resources to develop execution planning deliverables, including construction supervision, technical staff, engineering, quality control, safety, human performance, sub‑contractors and client stakeholders.
  • Provide updates on key metrics related to assigned series, including schedule, quality, safety, issues and risks.
  • Support the production training team in developing training programs, procedures, mock‑up arrangements and training implementation approaches.
  • Manage the “Series Readiness” process, soliciting acceptance from stakeholders that readiness criteria have been met.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and the public.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies.
  • Implement joint‑venture and client policies and project procedures as required.
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are at risk.
  • Oversee and support work during the execution phase, monitoring performance, providing guidance to the field team, reporting to line management, leading problem‑solving efforts and developing adverse‑condition recovery plans.
  • Ensure the project is built in accordance with drawings, specifications, CWPs, ITPs and the project schedule and budget.
  • Ensure work adheres to QA programs and project quality guidelines.
  • Coordinate across all project functions to achieve series goals.
  • Directly supervise team members within the series team.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or technical college diploma, or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • 2–5 years of Nuclear Project Coordination experience.
  • Experience coordinating/managing Engineer‑Procure‑Construct (EPC) work.
  • Ability to successfully coordinate a construction project.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements.
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
  • High proficiency in standard computer programs.
  • Experience preparing and delivering project reports in writing and verbally, including presentations to stakeholders.
