Role Overview

ZenaTech is seeking a Senior Writerto join the Corporate Communications team to play a critical role in communicating and shaping of the company’s narrative and strategic positioning across investor, key customer decision makers, and other stakeholder audiences. This is a senior role reporting to the VP of Corporate Development for an experienced writer who combines exceptional business writing and editing skills, with sound judgment, strategic thinking, story-telling, technology sector experience, and an understanding of operating in a public-company environment.

The role will focus on investor-facing communications, executive thought leadership, and strategic communications development, ensuring all messaging reflects the company’s key messaging, brand, and long-term vision. The ideal candidate is a writer by identity, fluent in investor, executive and business communications, and able to translate complex technology, emerging drone industry, and regulatory developments into clear, compelling narratives targeted for specific audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Company and Executive Thought Leadership
  • Help develop and write strategic thought leadership content for the company and the senior leadership teams that clearly articulates the company’s vision, mission, and long-term strategy.
  • Positively position ZenaTech as an emerging technology and drone industry leader through well-reasoned, credible, and forward-looking executive narratives.
  • Translate business strategy and industry/regulatory developments into authentic executive voices.
Investor & Market Communications
  • Help create and edit investor-focused communications, including press releases and strategic announcements, that clearly convey ZenaTech’s opportunity, growth strategy, and market positioning to investors.
  • Ensure all investor-facing content reflects strong business writing, sound disclosure judgment, and alignment with public-company communication standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Investor Relations, Marketing, Legal, and executive stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
Strategic Narrative & Message Platform
  • Help develop and evolve our corporate message platform and thought leadership themes that align executive, investor, customer, and internal communications and subsidiary objectives.
  • Support internal alignment by ensuring and working with business units and functional teams, to ensure they understand and apply the company’s core narratives and positioning where needed.
  • Maintain consistency of ZenaTech tone, style, and messaging across high-impact communications and subsidiary brands.
Industry & Policy Understanding
  • Develop a working understanding of the drone industry, including regulatory, policy, and compliance environments, and how these factors drive ZenaTech’s business strategy and communications.
  • Incorporate relevant regulatory, policy, and market dynamics into executive and investor narratives in a clear, accessible manner.
  • Build familiarity with government, public-sector, and defense-adjacent decision-maker audiences and industries to inform company communications development.
  • Contribute to multi-channel content development editing (executive communications, corporate blogs, thought leadership articles, white papers, ad campaigns, podcasts etc.) in partnership with business area marketing teams.
  • Provide guidance and editorial leadership to cross-functional contributors to ensure content aligns with corporate messaging, tone, compliance and strategic priorities.
  • Act as a trusted strategic writing and messaging resource across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional background of 5- 8 years in writing, journalism, or editorial roles, with a demonstrated track record of high-quality business or thought leadership writing.
  • Experience of 5+ years writing for executive, investor, and senior decision-maker audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly and with impact about strategy, opportunity, technology, and business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with public-company communications, including an understanding of disclosure considerations and investor communications standards.
  • Experience with key AI tools, SEO tools and productivity hacks to save time and automate the writing process as much as possible.
  • Experience writing in or for the technology industry; experience with regulated industries is a strong plus.
  • Comfort engaging with content intended for investors, customers, government stakeholders, and familiarity with defense-adjacent audiences is beneficial.
  • Exceptional business editing skills with a strong eye for tone, clarity, brevity, structure, and consistency that is appropriate to both the medium and audience.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with senior leaders and all levels of cross-functional teams.
