Job summary

Phoenix Industrial invites applications for a Workface Planner Lead to guide workforce planning across multiple Alberta project sites. You will align labor forecasts with project schedules, coordinate with supervision and recruitment, and drive standardized processes for optimal productivity.

Ideal candidates have CSTS certification, 3–5 years of industry experience, and strong MS Office and scheduling tool skills.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in construction management or project management is required.
• CSTS training is required and current CSTS certification is expected.
• 3-5 years of related industry experience.
• Supervisory/management experience (2+ years) is preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and scheduling reports.
• Scheduling experience is beneficial.
• Journeyman ticket in Steamfitter-Pipefitter or Ironworker is advantageous.
• Foreman/General Foreman experience is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and teamwork mindset.
• MS Office proficiency; familiarity with Primavera P6, JD Edwards, SharePoint, and 3D modeling is beneficial.
• Pre-access testing is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of workforce planning aligned with schedules and targets.
• Collaborate with supervision to set daily, weekly, and long-range staffing needs.
• Develop standardized workforce planning tools and processes, including forecasting and resource allocation.
• Coordinate manpower with recruitment and operations to ensure availability and efficiency.
• Review plans and staffing forecasts for accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Lead workforce execution planning with field supervision for efficient deployment.
• Monitor labor utilization and productivity, recommending actions to leadership.
• Coordinate planning activities across operations, controls, QA, and other groups.
• Adjust staffing plans in response to changing requirements and priorities.
• Conduct post-project reviews to improve forecasting and planning.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning systems and processes.
• Perform additional leadership and planning duties as needed.
