Senior Water Resource Engineer - Ontario

Your Role:

  1. Manage and deliver water resources and municipal engineering projects, utilizing internal junior staff and our in-house experts to manage multidisciplinary assignments.
  2. Conduct engineering calculations, support the development of design plans, and perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for stormwater management, flood control, wastewater treatment, and water supply projects. Access to a team of CAD designers familiar with GIS Mapping, Civil3D, and Pipe Networks is available.
  3. Collect and analyze relevant data, such as rainfall patterns, flow rates, and water quality data, to support engineering designs and evaluations, with support from junior engineers.
  4. Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess infrastructure, identify issues, and gather data for project development, supported by junior staff with construction experience.
  5. Assist in preparing permit applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  6. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings to communicate project details effectively.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, and clients.
  8. Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements through continuous learning.
  9. Willing to manage construction activities and work with contractors and clients to implement designs.
  10. Prepare proposals and define project scopes, schedules, and budgets with clients.
  11. Manage municipal design and construction projects.
  12. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and standards.
  13. Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain high discipline knowledge.
  14. Work safely and report health and safety incidents.
  15. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience, especially in land development or municipal projects.
  • Experience or aptitude in proposal writing, client development, and teamwork.
  • Registered P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) is a plus.
  • Eligible to register as an Engineer in Training with EGBC.
  • Familiarity with MMCD and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of water resources engineering principles, stormwater management, and municipal infrastructure systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
