Senior Water Resource Engineer - Ontario

Your Role:
- Manage and deliver water resources and municipal engineering projects, utilizing internal junior staff and our in-house experts to manage multidisciplinary assignments.
- Conduct engineering calculations, support the development of design plans, and perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for stormwater management, flood control, wastewater treatment, and water supply projects. Access to a team of CAD designers familiar with GIS Mapping, Civil3D, and Pipe Networks is available.
- Collect and analyze relevant data, such as rainfall patterns, flow rates, and water quality data, to support engineering designs and evaluations, with support from junior engineers.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess infrastructure, identify issues, and gather data for project development, supported by junior staff with construction experience.
- Assist in preparing permit applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings to communicate project details effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, and clients.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements through continuous learning.
- Willing to manage construction activities and work with contractors and clients to implement designs.
- Prepare proposals and define project scopes, schedules, and budgets with clients.
- Manage municipal design and construction projects.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and standards.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain high discipline knowledge.
- Work safely and report health and safety incidents.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience, especially in land development or municipal projects.
- Experience or aptitude in proposal writing, client development, and teamwork.
- Registered P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) is a plus.
- Eligible to register as an Engineer in Training with EGBC.
- Familiarity with MMCD and proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of water resources engineering principles, stormwater management, and municipal infrastructure systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
