Job summary

QinetiQ in Medicine Hat, AB is seeking a highly experienced Engineering Leader to help shape concepts of operations and the technical architecture for QTSC products and services. You will collaborate with project teams across engineering, operations, commercial and business development to define requirements, cost estimates, and technical scope for proposals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in design, development, testing, or lifecycle sustainment.
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Experience with avionics, marine, vehicular military systems, or uncrewed systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of concepts of operations and use cases for QTSC products and services.
• Assist in developing the technical architecture for dependant products, projects, and programs over lifecycles.
• Work with project teams to create full requirements definition for product family lifecycle within project planning activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operational, Commercial & Business Development teams to develop Basis of Estimates and Technical scope for internal and external proposals.
• Provide technical support within Change & Obsolescence Management Processes
• Act as Project Technical Lead/Engineer for small system projects
• Clarify and define technical requirements for medium-sized projects
• Ensure testing and validation of overall systems and alignment with strategic scope
• Prepare engineering publications including drawings, safety documentation, reports & training materials
• Train internal staff on system function and operations
• Provide recommendations and business cases for long-range technical projects
• Assist in development, maintenance, and execution of Technical Product RoadMaps
