Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Medicine Hat, Alberta, is seeking a Software Requirements & Release Engineer to support embedded firmware and software across QTSC vehicle product families. You will analyze inputs, decompose requirements, maintain traceability, and collaborate across software, electronics, and test teams to ensure proper releases and validation.

Responsibilities include defining acceptance criteria, validating design through tests, and coordinating with project teams on release readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in requirements engineering, embedded software, firmware development, or related fields.
• Experience with avionics, vehicular systems, or command and control interfaces is a plus.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer and system inputs to identify software requirements and behaviours.
• Decompose requirements into clear, verifiable software specs and maintain traceability.
• Allocate requirements across drivers, HALs, middleware, and application logic.
• Develop acceptance criteria, validation plans, and test objectives with the project team.
• Support verification activities including unit, integration, and system testing.
