About The Role

We are seeking a Senior or Intermediate Underwriter to join our Personal Lines team in Calgary or Edmonton. This is a permanent, full-time hybrid role requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate moderate to complex risks
• Process, underwrite, and authorize new business, renewals, cancellations, and endorsements
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines, laws, and regulations; apply standard rates and premiums
• Review claims reports and driver abstracts
• Provide technical advice, mentorship, and coaching
• Participate in technical training and develop relationships with partners
• Promote products and services, solicit new business, and identify growth opportunities
• Prepare summaries of results

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Property and Casualty insurance experience in Alberta
• Completion or pursuit of CIP designation
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Intact software an asset
• Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance and legal document analysis
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and visit broker offices
• Eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work experience required
