Job summary

Allied World Assurance Company is seeking an experienced underwriter to develop business from broker accounts, assess risks, and maintain profitability targets. You will review submissions, rate premiums, and deliver decisions within authority levels.

Build strong broker relationships, negotiate treaty terms, and identify up selling and cross selling opportunities. You will coordinate with Claims, Accounting, Legal and Finance to support client needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2–10 years of relevant multi-line general insurance/reinsurance underwriting experience.
Professional insurance qualifications preferred (CPCU, ARe, RPLU).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent negotiation and documentation abilities.
High attention to detail and risk assessment abilities.
Customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate submissions to identify profitable opportunities within guidelines.
Deliver underwriting decisions per processes and authority levels.
Rate premiums and apply terms in line with guidelines.
Collaborate with actuarial teams on pricing and structure.
Conduct underwriting audits and ensure compliance.
