Job description

Our client is well-known in the industry, and they are seeking a Senior Underwriter for their CGL team.

What you will be doing :

  1. Review and apply pricing, terms, and conditions to new and renewal business.
  2. Maintain and grow the existing book of business.
  3. Establish and maintain relationships with retail producing brokers, encouraging additional submission flow.
  4. Provide high-level commentary and market intelligence to the management team.
  5. Develop new broker relationships through visits and discussions.
  6. Attend broker meetings, conventions, and functions.
  7. Participate in discussions with markets and provide commentary on specific programs.
  8. Contribute ideas on new product development and learn about other areas of niche underwriting.
  9. Act as a leader within the organization, mentoring junior team members and signing off where applicable.

What we are looking for :

  1. Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills to complete assignments efficiently within structured timelines.
  2. Attention to detail for handling new business quotations accurately.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  4. Positive, driven, and disciplined attitude.

  7. Strong written and professional communication skills.
  8. Flexible and adaptable to change.
  9. Ability to develop long-term relationships with brokers.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  11. Level 1 General Insurance license or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  12. Designations such as CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP, or working towards them are preferred.
  13. High school diploma required.
