Job summary

First Nations Bank of Canada (FNBC) is seeking a Trust Controller to lead client financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls for the trust company across Canada. The role manages $5.5 billion in AUA across 38+ high-value client accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.

This full-time permanent hybrid position can be based in Saskatoon or Vancouver, requiring CPA designation and 5+ years in public accounting.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing.
• University degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or business.
• Minimum 5 years in public accounting with CPA.
• Experience with treasury, cash management, or payment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial reporting process for monthly, quarterly, and annual statements for boards of trustees and chiefs and councils.
• Direct client accounting, managing the general ledger, chart of accounts, accruals, bank and investment reconciliations, and month-end close schedules.
• Coordinate statutory filings, client tax requirements, including federal T3 filings.
• Oversee all client payments with multi-level authorization controls.
• Lead risk and internal audit reviews, and design control frameworks for accounting and payment processing.
