Senior Transit Project Delivery Leader

Job summary

Metrolinx, based in Toronto, seeks a Senior Manager, Project Delivery to lead a team delivering major capital railway transit projects. You will oversee planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning to meet timelines, budget and safety standards.

This role requires engineering/related degree and proven PM skills, with experience in transit infrastructure. You will coach staff, liaise across levels and ensure proactive risk mitigation in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Progressive experience in engineering and/or project management services for complex projects.
• Experience in transit infrastructure including structures, bridges, tunnels and civil works is an asset.
• Strong project management skills with budget and schedule controls, leading cross‑functional teams.
• Leadership ability to coach, mentor and manage a technical project team.
• Problem solving and analytical skills to address contractor and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop project delivery strategies with administrative and technical leadership for a capital program of major infrastructure projects.
• Plan, set objectives and control activities during all phases in a hybrid‑matrix environment.
• Develop and review proposal estimates, plans, schedules and tender documents for coordination.
• Review consultant proposals and contractor submittals and recommend project solutions.
• Provide collaborative leadership oversight, identify milestones and mitigate risks.
• Oversee activities to identify exposure or non‑compliance and take action to mitigate risk.
