Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Training & Learning Specialist in Edmonton, AB!
Must Have Primary Skills
- University degree in a related field such as Adult Education, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible related experience; OR a related diploma plus a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered based on 1 year of education for 2 years of experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience conducting learning needs analysis, audience and role assessments, work-context analysis, and requirements gathering to develop practical, role-based learning solutions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end learning solutions, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, e-learning, multimedia, job aids, and performance-support resources.
- Minimum 2 years of experience facilitating instructor-led and virtual training for diverse technical and non-technical audiences using plain language, demonstrations, activities, and learner-engagement techniques.
Nice To Have Secondary Skills
- 2+ years designing or configuring digital adoption and in-application performance support, including embedded guidance, walkthroughs, and contextual support using WalkMe or comparable platforms.
- 2+ years developing accessible e-learning, instructional videos, audio, or multimedia content using tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Canva, Vyond, Adobe products, or comparable tools.
- 2+ years gathering requirements, facilitating reviews, working with SMEs and stakeholders, and reconciling competing feedback to deliver quality learning solutions within established timelines.
- 2+ years using AI-enabled tools for instructional design, analysis, content development, or communications while validating outputs for accuracy, accessibility, privacy, and organizational standards.
- 2+ years using learner feedback, assessments, performance measures, adoption indicators, and other evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning solutions.Experience delivering training within ERP environments, particularly Finance, HCM/Payroll, Supply Chain Management, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or comparable enterprise ERP platforms.
Proven Experience In
This is a fully onsite position in Edmonton, Alberta, with the successful resource expected to work from the office five days per week. Standard working hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM Alberta Time, Monday through Friday, excluding applicable holidays.All work must be performed within Canada due to network and data-security requirements.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Strong experience in corporate/enterprise training, instructional design, learning and development, or organizational learning.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training for ERP, enterprise technology, digital transformation, or large-scale system implementations.
- Experience conducting training needs assessments and audience/role analysis.Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience developing instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced/e-learning solutions.
- Hands-on experience creating e-learning, multimedia, videos, job aids, QRGs, digital adoption content, and performance-support materials.Strong facilitation and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with business process owners, SMEs, technical teams, vendors, project teams, and change-management stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple training workstreams, priorities, dependencies, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.Experience evaluating training effectiveness, learner performance, system adoption, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, content governance, QA, and version control.
- Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior trainers or learning-content contributors.
- Experience with digital learning, collaboration, multimedia, content-authoring, and AI-enabled productivity tools is an asset.
- Previous experience supporting procurement, supply chain, financial, HR/HCM, or other ERP business processes would be highly valuable.
