Job summary

Bandstra Transportation Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Terminal Maintenance Person for our Smithers, BC operation. This 40-hour week offers 4x10 hr shifts Wednesday–Saturday if preferred, with start date as soon as possible.

The role coordinates repairs for local assets, works with operations to maximize uptime, and requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various environments, and maintain compliance with safety and federal/provincial rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a maintenance / mechanic role applicable to operations.
• Commercial Transport Mechanic or Trailer Mechanic certification preferred.
• Equipped with appropriate tools.
• Valid Class 3 license with air brake endorsement; Class 1 license preferred.
• Commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions in northern BC.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage maintenance according to policy and schedules.
• Perform tasks efficiently and address urgent needs promptly.
• Ensure equipment condition and repairs comply with regulations.
• Perform repairs on Semi trucks, trailers, forklifts and loaders.
• Maintain buildings and systems in good condition and compliant with policy.
• Uphold safety protocols and promote company values.
