Job summary

Bandstra Transportation Systems Ltd. in Smithers, BC seeks an experienced Local P&D Driver to support day shift operations from our Smithers terminal.

You will perform local pickups and deliveries, handle loading/unloading with a forklift, maintain safety practices, complete pre-trip inspections and paperwork, and work with minimal supervision. Must have 2+ years of driving experience and a valid Class 5 with Air Brake Endorsement.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 license with Air Brake Endorsement required
• Clear driving record: no major violations in past 36 months
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong English reading and writing skills

Responsibilities

• Local pickup and delivery with a 5 Ton truck

Job Summary:

We are currently accepting resumes for an experiencedLocal P&D Driver based from our Smithers, BC terminal, driving for the day shift operations.

Responsibilities:

A typical day in this role includes:

• Local pickup and delivery work with a 5 Ton truck equipped with Power Tail Gate.
• Loading and unloading trucks and trailers with a forklift as needed
• Proactively adhering to a high standard of safety and be safety conscious
• Conduct pre-trip inspections
• Complete forms and paperwork as required
• Completing work & tasks under minimal supervision

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role:

• Must have a valid Class 5 license with valid Air Brake Endorsement. (Class 1 license would be an asset)
• Must submit a driver's abstract must show no driving-related criminal code convictions in the prior 36 months; no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 12 months; no more than 3 moving violations in the prior 36 months. The date of conviction and the current date will be the date used to determine time periods
• Must pass a pre-employment screening
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Should be comfortable interacting with customers
• Has 2+ years of experience in commercial driving
• Preferably knows the National Safety Code Cargo Securement Standard 10
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Is proficient in English, both in reading and writing
