Senior Technical Writer, Toronto

We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer with experience in Product Documentation, DITA, and Agile, to join our team in Toronto as hybrid.

You will report to the Director, Documentation.

You will create product documentation, videos, and tutorials.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

1. Write technical content that describes product functionality
2. Compile and test online help
3. Create project plans, maintain schedules for specific projects, and communicate documentation status to the documentation manager or lead
4. Develop tutorials to improve first user experience
5. Work with partners to deliver meaningful error messages, useful UI strings, and develop clear terminology
6. Contribute how-to articles, knowledge base articles, videos, walkthroughs, and other useful content
7. Contribute to documentation team processes
8. Edit own content for completeness, style, and accuracy to ensure it reflects Informatica's standards
9. Collaborate on projects with other technical writers

What We'd Like to See

• Knowledge of data management, big data, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and cloud concepts.
• Experience with DITA, Oxygen XML, content management systems, source control systems, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, video software, e-learning software, and/or Pendo.

• BA/MA/BS or equivalent (engineering, technical communications, humanities, social sciences)
• Able to meet deadlines and help others meet them
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and follow schedules
• Able to follow documentation processes and style
• Able to understand customer requirements and incorporate them into the documentation
• Attentive to detail and accuracy, committed to excellence, owns and acts on quality issues
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience
