Senior Technical Writer, Toronto

We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer with experience in Product Documentation, DITA, and Agile methodologies to join our team in Toronto as a hybrid role.

You will report to the Director of Documentation.

Your responsibilities include creating product documentation, videos, and tutorials.

Technology You'll Use

DITA, XML

Your Role Responsibilities

• Write technical content that describes product functionality
• Compile and test online help
• Create project plans, maintain schedules for specific projects, and communicate documentation status to the documentation manager or lead
• Develop tutorials to enhance the first user experience
• Work with partners to deliver meaningful error messages, useful UI strings, and develop clear terminology
• Contribute to how-to articles, knowledge base articles, videos, walkthroughs, and other useful content
• Contribute to documentation team processes
• Edit own content for completeness, style, and accuracy to ensure it reflects Informatica's standards
• Collaborate on projects with other technical writers

What We'd Like to See

• Knowledge of data management, big data, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and cloud concepts
• Experience with DITA, Oxygen XML, content management systems, source control systems, Jira, and Confluence
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, video software, e-learning software, and/or Pendo

Role Essentials

• BA/MA/BS or equivalent in engineering, technical communications, humanities, or social sciences
• Able to meet deadlines and assist others in meeting theirs
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and follow schedules
• Able to follow documentation processes and style guides
• Able to understand customer requirements and incorporate them into documentation
• Attentive to detail and accuracy, committed to excellence, and proactive in addressing quality issues
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience
