Senior Technical Specialist- Supply Chain Data Management
Position Description
The Senior Technical Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting SicKids Supply Chain Team through advanced programming, data analytics, and application development. This position demands exceptional organizational abilities, precise attention to detail, outstanding analytical skills, and effective communication to engage positively with end users across various levels of the organization.
Here's what you'll get to do
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot robust applications using Python, SQL, VBA, and other relevant technologies.
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and database management systems.
- Collaborate closely with end users to gather requirements and advise on optimal application usage to streamline and enhance existing business processes.
- Create and manage comprehensive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with departmental strategic objectives and operational goals.
- Develop intuitive and insightful dashboards using visualization tools such as Power BI (DAX, M), Tableau, Seaborn, Plotly, and Matplotlib.
- Create, maintain, and automate queries tailored to the diverse needs and requirements of end users.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft365 suite, particularly MS Excel (including Add-ins), Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
- Manage scheduled tasks and automate processes using PowerShell, shell scripting, and Command Line Shell.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience will be considered.
- Several years of demonstrable experience in programming and data analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Regex, PyODBC, Win32), SQL (T-SQL, Oracle), and VBA.
- Knowledge and passion of machine learning and AI agents is an asset
- Familiarity with IDEs such as Jupyter Lab/Notebook, Spyder, Visual Studio Code, and PyCharm.
- Experience with cloud platforms including MS Azure (SQL Server, Synapse, Data Factory, Blob Storage) or AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift).
- Expertise in relational and non-relational (NoSQL) database systems.
- Proficiency with scheduling tasks/processes using Windows Task Scheduler, Cron jobs, PowerShell, and shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of Agile software development methodologies, including experience with tools like SmartSheets, Jira, Asana, or MS Planner.
- Strong project management skills, including experience facilitating Scrum meetings and regular standups.
- Proficiency in dashboard development using visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Seaborn, Plotly, and Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with C#, C++, React, and Java is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, maintain high accuracy, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to interact professionally and collaboratively with all end users.
