Job summary

Raise in Tiverton, Ontario is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer to lead modification teams, manage NSS minor modifications, and provide Engineering Change Control guidance across EPC vendors.

You will perform field inspections, sign Field Initiated Changes, support cost and scheduling decisions, and help minimize project impacts through thorough technical review and cost awareness. Degree in engineering and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Computer or Software Engineering.
• Strong English communication and technical report writing skills.
• Experience with modification projects and field support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Modification Team Leader and Field Team Lead roles per Engineering Change Control process.
• Provide Project Management and Cost and Scheduling for NSS Minor Modifications.
• Provide Engineering Change Control guidance and support to field issues and EPC vendors.
• Provide technical and process support to field work and PCC actions.
• Review designs, sign Field Initiated Changes, and guide Design Leads.
• Conduct field inspections, acceptance, and approvals.
• Maintain written processes reflecting improved operating methods and additions to supported systems.
• Understand cost/schedule impacts and support minimizing project impacts.

Job Overview

• Perform Modification Team Leader and Field Team Lead roles as per OPGN's Engineering Change Control Process
• Provide Project Management and Cost and Scheduling for NSS Minor Modifications
• Provide Engineering Change Control guidance, provide active support to field issues and Field Initiated Changes, and facilitate a positive outcome with EPC vendors
• Provide technical and process support to field work under Projects, Work Order Holds and Project Control Center (PCC) actions
• Provide advice and/or direction to Design Leads, review designs and sign Field Initiated Changes
• Perform field inspections, acceptance and approvals
• Maintaining written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems
• Understand impacts on cost and schedule, and provide support to minimize impacts driving projects

Education: Degree in mechanical / electrical / electronics / mechatronics / computer or software engineering

Qualifications

• Requires a knowledge of electrical, electronics, computer science, statistical analysis and economics to provide consultative services in designated, specialized technical fields associated with the development, design, construction, commissioning and operation of power plants.
• Requires knowledge of English to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form and proficiency in technical report writing to develop, prepare and implement standards, methods, procedures and comprehensive reports.
