Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Toronto is seeking a Senior Technology Manager to lead platform strategy, drive modernization, cloud migration (AWS), and AI integration within the software development lifecycle.

You will oversee up to 15 engineers, collaborate with product, design, security, and marketing, and ensure platform health, security, and cost efficiency while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership in technology, engineering, or platform management.
• Minimum 4 years of people management experience.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex initiatives.
• Experience managing project financials and delivering within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform strategy, roadmap, and execution for customer-facing and internal platforms.
• Ensure platform health, performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Drive modernization, including cloud migration and architecture evolution.
• Oversee platform adoption, track health metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
• Champion innovation including AI integration in development processes.
• Partner with stakeholders across technology, product, design, security, and marketing.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, including compliance and licensing.
• Provide leadership in solution architecture, system design, API management, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure security, risk management, and regulatory standards are met.
• Lead a team of up to 15 professionals.
