Job summary

MNP in Canada is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Tax team, delivering customized tax strategies within a complex regulatory framework. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to design compliant, efficient solutions for clients.

You will lead engagements, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development while maintaining flexibility to travel as needed. This role offers growth within a leading national firm focused on client success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred)
• Completion of, or working towards, a CPA designation; CFE considered
• 2–4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experience
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
• Experience working with accounting and tax software

Responsibilities

• Complete tax engagements by computing taxes owed and preparing returns (personal and corporate)
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
• Advise on policy and tax changes to improve processes and opportunities
• Identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and discuss resolutions with managers
• Correspond with clients and government agencies on tax compliance
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and client summaries of findings
• Lead engagement teams and mentor junior staff
• Contribute to new ideas to improve work processes
• Participate in business development initiatives and seek new opportunities
• Travel as required
