Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior leader to shape the future of mining infrastructure in Calgary. This role involves guiding complex mine waste projects and mentoring engineers, with an emphasis on sustainability and community impact.

You will design tailings storage facilities, lead investigations, and manage multidisciplinary teams. Applicants should have 10–15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and a P.Eng. designation. Qualifications

Your Impact
  • Design and evaluate tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and integrated water management systems with safety and sustainability at the forefront
  • Lead geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations to support critical project and business decisions
  • Provide strategic input into permitting, environmental planning, and risk management frameworks
  • Oversee projects from concept through execution, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Canada and globally
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical excellence and career growth
  • Champion innovative mine waste management strategies and sustainable mining practices
  • Build trusted client relationships and support business development initiatives
  • Represent WSP in client engagements, regulatory discussions, and industry forums

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 – $179,100
MB & ON: $123,300 – $169,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $122,100 – $162,200
