About The Role

The Naval Programs team works across Lockheed Martin Canada's main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth). Opportunities are available at all sites to support Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities.

The candidate will be a Systems Engineering team member within a multi-disciplinary environment, working on the entire engineering lifecycle for a specific Subsystem within complex naval platform systems. These subsystems are categorized by warfare area: Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), Underwater Warfare (UWW), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Communication Systems (Comms).

Responsibilities

• Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Communication and Information Systems (CIS) subsystems.
• Lead system and platform integration activities for shipboard CIS, including interface design.
• Participate in requirements compliance assessments and verification planning.
• Maintain technical specifications and statements of work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve integration and installation issues.
• Review technical data and provide recommendations on document acceptance.
• Support whole-ship design activities by synthesizing information from various sources.
• Contribute to design documentation and deliverables.
• Prepare change proposals and engineering change requests.
• Contribute to subcontract milestone activities and maintain system architecture.
• Follow systems engineering processes and best practices.

What you bring to the role

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with Communication and Information Systems.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel.
• High initiative, autonomy, and adaptability.

Additional Skills Desired

• Familiarity with DOORS, Cameo, Jira, Windchill.
• Experience with Agile, military naval domain, sensors, weapons, ship integration, subcontract or supply chain management.
• Knowledge of change management, requirements management, security, safety, EMI/EMC, environmental qualification.
