About The Opportunity

The IM/IT Sr. Systems Analyst (SA) / Business Analyst (BA) reports to the Primary Care & Community Applications IMIT Manager. The role involves evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions across NSH, IWK, and external clients. A key responsibility is supporting Ocean eReferral, a digital platform enabling electronic referrals from primary care to specialists, improving efficiency and communication within healthcare.

This position collaborates with clinical and business stakeholders across the province and supports the organization’s strategy to rationalize systems and enhance interoperability. The role requires high performance standards, supporting IT applications aligned with NSH’s mission and goals, including activities like change request evaluation, troubleshooting, user communication, and configuration management, all within established policies and SLAs.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

• A degree or diploma in IT, Business Analysis, or a health-related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a technology, business analysis, or health-related role.
• Over 2 years’ experience in application programming, systems analysis, or support.
• Experience with Ocean eReferral is an asset.
• Knowledge of healthcare information systems and terminology is an asset.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or change management are assets.
• Experience supporting clinical application systems in complex healthcare environments is preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to clinical and business staff.
• Understanding of systems principles within healthcare.
• Knowledge of best practices in healthcare and technology industries.
• Problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, and the ability to improve services using clinical and business knowledge.
• Experience creating evaluative and analytical documentation.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders on complex issues.
• Experience with process analysis and change management principles.
• Ability to communicate NSH’s vision, mission, and values effectively.
• Experience working with patient care leaders.

Hours

Compensation and Benefits

$38.36 - $47.95 hourly. Benefits include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
