As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize our expanding IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a structured environment and understands the importance of system reliability even if that means working outside of standard hours or traveling occasionally to remote locations.

Position Overview :

The Senior Systems Administrator will take a leading role in the ownership of AutoShack’s core IT infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, and performance across on-premise and cloud systems. The role requires a technically adept and organized professional who understands uptime as a business-critical priority and is comfortable with occasional travel to retail locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities :

Systems & Infrastructure Management

• Configure, maintain, and monitor servers, storage, and network systems to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
• Perform proactive maintenance and ensure high availability of critical services.
• Respond to issues swiftly sometimes outside of regular hours or on-site at other company locations.
• Manage virtual infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure.
• Optimize cloud resources and manage cloud security.
• Schedule and execute system updates or changes during off-peak hours.

Security & Compliance

• Develop, apply, and enforce IT security best practices.
• Conduct audits, patch management, and incident response.
• Support compliance efforts with thorough documentation.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

• Maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Minimize downtime through rapid response and system recovery strategies.
• Ensure systems remain functional during infrastructure or connectivity incidents, including those at remote locations.

Technical Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain current, accurate records of systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Track assets and changes in a well-documented, auditable format.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Certifications Required :

• Preferred : Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or equivalent.

Experience

• 7+ years in system administration in a hybrid or enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience with the following technologies :
• Networking : Routers, switches, firewall with certification and work experience.
• Servers : Windows Server & Hyper-V clustering work experience. An understanding of how quorum works.
• L1\L2 experience
• Cybersecurity : Comfortable with pen testing
• Cloud : MS365, Azure, or AWS / Google. Power Automate experience.
• DNS & DHCP.
• Experience in a hybrid AD environment (Cloud & local AD)
• Comfortable with Wireshark to troubleshoot blocked access.
• Any ERP experience.
• Familiarity with off-hours patching, on-call response, and travel to satellite or remote sites .
• Solid background in cloud administration (especially Azure), cybersecurity, and disaster recovery planning.

• Strong diagnostic, analytical, and root-cause resolution skills.
