Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our A&N Sonar team.In this role, you’ll lead systems engineering efforts that can span form System Design, Requirements Analysis and SI V&V activities. You will work closely with program and engineering teams, our Subject Matter Experts and customers.You will collaborate with leadership to align project needs and drive technical excellence.

• Develop, document, and review system designs and use cases, define system interfaces, and conduct analyses
• Lead System Integration activities, test plans, cases, procedures and methods for system verification
• Prepare requirements documents and specifications
• Problem solve to understand the cause and effect in complex systems
• Review technical documentation, provide analysis
• Investigate system defects and raise problem reports
• Develop Integration and Test Plans and Procedures, including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes.
• Build, configure, and validate test environments.
• Lead planning and coordinating test activities
• Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather appropriate measures and data, analyze and interpret test data, and prepare test reports
• Identify, investigate and document defects, and verify solutions
• Manage requirement mapping to automated and manual test cases
• Develop and maintain automated test tools and scripts

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+years of experience
• Experience in/with:
  • Requirements development, and system design
  • Requirements management tools
  • Systems Engineering processes and tools
  • Supporting System Integration and System Verification
  • Working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Technical writing
• Understanding of Software Engineering principles
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to conduct analysis leading to good conclusions
• Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn, and takes pride and ownership of work
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
